Rare Vintage Antique WWI M1902 US Cavalry McClellan Krag Carbine Rifle Scabbard

This is a rare find Model 1902 30/40 Krag Carbine rifle scabbard. These from what I can tell, were not even made a full year. The Army took the original mode 1896 scabbard and used the brass from the 1887 model the strengthen the top.

The parts may have been surplus and that would make the leather or at least the brass top as old as 1887 and 1896? Either way, this item is well over 100 years old and made prior to WWI. Measures 31" long x 7.5" wide at top widest. I did not see an actual date stamp but it looks to be numbered for soldier # 12 and was made by the Rock Island Arsenal. 94089 in San Francisco Bay Area.
