Rare 1880s Photo Bird's Eye View Los Angeles California by Stanton Signs Horses
Rare original boudoir card (8.5" x 5.25"), bird's eye view of Los Angeles, photographed by the LA photographer Thomas E. Stanton, whose "Elite Gallery" was located at Temple Block, 119 and 129 North Main St. On the back is some writing in pencil dated November 13, 1885. Lots of detail in this image, including several businesses with readable signs. Based on the signs, including Henry J. Woolacott's Wine & Liquor store, I believe this was North Spring Street. Woolacott's store was located at 26-28 North Spring in 1885. Card is in good or better antique condition with edge, corner wear. The studio imprints on the front and back are very difficult to read but I can make out enough to guarantee the photographer info above.
