You are admiring a beautiful example of an original 1940s block bilt half belt jacket. The jacket is made of a super nice supple, rare caramel horse hide that has weathered the years to a beautiful patina. The color and elegant, simple design elements are what sets this one apart from other 1940s half belt jackets. The liner is in way above average condition, through out. The mid 1940s small tooth brass conmar zippers are in perfect etc working order, ie: no missing teeth, no bottom separation.
Original sleeve buttons are secure. Measurements as follows, as there is no size tag. I would though say that the jacket is in the area of a modern size 40. Pit to pit with the jacket laid flat: 22 1/", waist: 20", front length: 22 1/2", sleeves from the shoulder seam to end of cuff: 24 1/4", shoulder seam to shoulder seam at the top back: 18", back length from the collar seam to bottom of the back: 25".No, you will not find anything like this jacket offered by reproduction manufacturers, as there is no replicating true vintage. Perfect for those chilly summer evenings, or a fall walk. The item "Horse hide jacket, vintage 1940s jacket, half belt jacket. Rare example, excl" is in sale since Sunday, July 5, 2020.
